Suspects Sought In $7,000 Perfume Shoplifting
Wednesday, January 25th, 2023
The Dalton Police Department is asking for the public's help to identify three women who are accused of shoplifting more than $7,000 in fragrances in merchandise from the Ulta store on Walnut Avenue. The suspects wore face coverings in the store, but fortunately two of the three suspects were also recorded without them in a store across the parking lot just before the incident.
The incident happened on December 20th at approximately 1:00 pm. The suspects, described as three heavyset Black females, arrived together to the Ulta store at 1310 W. Walnut Avenue. Store employees reported that the women waited until store employees were busy at the cash register and began to fill their large handbags with bottles of perfume and other items. The women then exited the store and walked away through the parking lot out of the view of surveillance cameras. The total amount of the stolen items was valued at $7,504. The three suspects wore Covid masks or facial coverings inside the Ulta store, however a Dalton detective found video of two of the three women inside the Food City store next door to Ulta just before the theft. Easily recognizable by their distinctive jackets, the two women were not wearing their masks and were recorded on store surveillance. Pictures of the suspects inside Ulta and also at the Food City are included below.
Anyone who has information on this incident or the identity of the three women is asked to please contact Detective Charles Williams at 706-278-9085, extension 9-280.
