DPD Investigating Sweet-Smelling Shoplifting
The Dalton Police Department is investigating after two women shoplifted more than $1,000 worth of merchandise from Bath and Body Works. The suspects, who no doubt smell great after making off with that much perfume or lotion, were recorded by the store's surveillance cameras.
The incident happened August 3rd at approximately 3:00 pm. Two women entered the store and began to look at various merchandise. They were working with a store clerk, and later police were told that anything the employee recommended, the suspects would pick up and put into a shopping bag. Then, without warning, the women left the store without paying for the merchandise. The store's manager told police that the women got away with $1,077.50 in merchandise.
The first suspect was described as a Black female, standing approximately 5'7" tall with a heavy build, brown eyes and black hair wearing black pants and a black and white striped shirt. The second suspect was approximately 5'5" tall, with a medium build and brown eyes and brown hair wearing leggings and a white Georgia t-shirt. Both individuals wore Covid masks.
Anyone who recognizes either of these women is asked to please contact Detective Charles Williams at 706-278-9085, extension 9-280.
