DPD Investigating Cell Phone Theft

The Dalton Police Department is asking for the public's help to identify a man who stole a cell phone after its owner left it unattended. The theft was recorded by surveillance cameras.
The incident happened December 23rd at Dalton Food and Tobacco at 601 N. Glenwood Avenue. The victim told police that he had put his cell phone down inside of the store on a stack of boxes and began playing a game inside the store. A short while later he went to retrieve his phone and found that it was not there. A review of surveillance video from the store shows a man walk up to the phone and look around to see if anyone is watching. The man then picks up the phone and conceals it in his pants pocket. The man then left the store.
The suspect is a white male who wore a black hat and black hoodie pulled up over his head. The hoodie had the word "GEORGIA" on the front in red and "USA" in white. The suspect also wore red shoes and a black backpack. The suspect appears to be in his 20s and has a beard and mustache. He stands approximately 6 feet tall and appears to weigh approximately 170 pounds.
