DPD Investigates Shoplifting

Thursday, June 23rd, 2022

Investigators with the Dalton Police Department are asking for your help to identify two women who shoplifted an estimated $400 worth of clothing from an area store. The women entered the store with a large bag and took the items. They were recorded by store surveillance.

The incident happened at the RAK Outfitters store on West Walnut Avenue on June 12th but was not discovered by the store until June 14th when a manager was reviewing security tapes. The video footage shows the two suspects entering the store together with a large bag and then moving around the store. One suspect asks an employee to place aside an item, saying they would be back to purchase it later. The suspects instead were able to steal several items of clothing, leaving the area in a medium blue Kia or Nissan passenger car with a Tennessee license plate.

The first suspect was a Black female with long braided hair in a pony tail. She wore a white or cream colored t-shirt with ripped blue jeans and bright red sneakers. The second suspect was a Black female with long hair who wore a COVID mask over her mouth and nose and a long flowing white dress. Pictures of both women are included below.

Anyone who knows these suspects or who has information on this crime is asked to please contact Detective Charles Williams at 706-278-9085, extension 9-280,
