Police Investigating Shopping Cart Shoplifting

The Dalton Police Department is asking for the public's help to identify two people that investigators say were involved in shoplifting more than $330 in merchandise from a store. Investigators say that one of the indivuduals loaded the stolen goods in a shopping cart and then the other pushed it out of the store without paying. Both were recorded by store surveillance.

The incident happened in late December at the TJ Maxx location on West Walnut Avenue. At approximately 8:30 am, a woman entered the store and began to load items into a shopping cart. The woman loaded approximately 20 items into the cart before leaving the cart near the entrance to the store. The woman then walked outside, leaving the items behind. Shortly after, a man entered the store and walked to the shopping cart and pushed it out of the store without paying for the items. Store management estimated that the stolen items were worth $339.80.

The woman in the case is White with blond hair that was pulled back in a bun. She wore dark rimmed glasses and a black Nike hoodie with a large white swoosh logo on the chest and dark pants. The male was White with close cropped dark hair and facial hair who wore dark rimmed glasses and a black and white checkered button down shirt jacket over a white t-shirt and jeans with a black lanyard around his neck.
