Patrol Shifts
Dalton Police Department has 4 patrol shifts (A, B. C. and D) that work 12-hour schedules. Patrol officers are responsible for responding to calls for service, conducting preliminary investigations, conducting traffic enforcement, and investigating suspicious activity. Each shift is supervised by a Lieutenant and a Sergeant, and each shift is staffed with 10 police officer positions.
A-Shift is led by Lt. Jason Bishop and Sgt. Mollie Parker. Lt. Bishop is the East District Commander.

B-Shift is led by Lt. Michael Houck and Sgt. Michael Bowen. Lt. Houck also manages the Field Training Program for new officers.
