DPD Investigating Attempted Theft Of Laundromat Coin Machine

The suspect was recorded by surveillance cameras

The Dalton Police Department is asking for the public's help to identify a man who attempted to steal a coin machine from the wall of a local laundromat. Investigators are hoping someone who knows the man will recognize him based on the combination of the Dalton High School hat he wore along with a green duffel bag and the bicycle he was riding.

The incident happened around midnight on October 14th. The suspect, a white male with a beard wearing a tan jacket and Dalton High cap, rode up to the Laundry King at 524 MLK Boulevard on a bicycle. He entered the business and began to use a hammer and crowbar to try to remove the coin change machine from the wall. He was unable to do so, and after about 45 minutes he left the store. The suspect was recorded by surveillance cameras, but kept the Catamount hat low on his face the entire time. Still, investigators are hoping he will be recognized based on his clothing, appearance, and the bicycle and bag he carried.

Anyone who recognizes this suspect is asked to please contact Detective John Edwards at 706-278-9085, extension 9-152.
