If I Think I am Sick, What Should I Do?
According to the North Georgia Health District, individuals with only mild or minor symptoms of COVID-19 should not go to a doctor but should stay home and treat symptoms and self-isolate. In general, only those who are having significant trouble breathing should visit the Emergency Room. Current treatments are only based on easing symptoms for the virus, so if a person has the coronavirus but is not experiencing symptoms there would be no need for any treatment other than isolating the patient.
Individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 and not being treated at a medical facility should self-isolate.
Call ahead before going to a doctor's office or urgent care clinic and they will direct you how to proceed.
