Qualifying For City Offices Begins Next Month
Qualifying for City of Dalton elections will begin next month with five offices on the ballot including three seats on the City Council. Chairman and Vice-Chairman offices on the Dalton Public Schools Board of Education will also be on the ballot in November.
The offices that will be on the ballot in November are:
City of Dalton Mayor & Council:
- Council member Ward 1 – (incumbent Derek Waugh, resigned)
- Council member Ward 2 – (incumbent Annalee Harlan)
- Council member Ward 4 – (incumbent Gary Crews)
Dalton Public Schools Board of Education:
- Chairman – (incumbent Matt Evans)
- Vice-Chairman – (incumbent Palmer Griffin)
Candidate qualifying for these City offices will run August 16th through August 20th between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm in the City Clerk's office. The qualifying fee for City Council candidates is $360.00. the qualifying fee for Board of Education seats is $35.00.
