Dennis Mock
Dennis Mock was elected as the representative of Ward 1 in November 2021 to fulfill an unexpired term on the council and then re-elected to a full term in 2023. This is Mr. Mock's second time serving on Dalton's Mayor and Council. He was elected mayor in a special election in 2014 and later won a full term as mayor in 2015 and he served in that role until 2019.
In the time since his mayoral term ended, Mock championed the cause of keeping Dalton clean and beautiful, leading an initiative to challenge school children in the community to adopt city streets and parks to keep them free from litter.
Mr. Mock holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and sociology form Ball State University and a master's degree in health administration from Georgia State University. He is retired from Whitco Produce in Dalton.
Mr. Mock serves on the Convention and Visitors Center Bureau Board, the Joint Development Authority, the MPO Policy Board, the Pension Board, the Recreation Committee, and the TAD Policies Board.
