Nicky Lama

Nicky Lama was elected to the City Council in November of 2023 to fulfill the unexpired portion of the term of Councilmember Annalee Sams. Lama was sworn in to office on December 4th, 2023 making him the newest member of the Dalton City Council. A graduate of Dalton High School with a degree in Construction Management, Nicky has intrinsic ties to his hometown and continuously seeks opportunities to invest in, and further develop, Dalton’s local economy. An entrepreneur at heart, and fifth-generation business owner, Nicky leverages his professional skills to advance Dalton’s standing as a friendly, fun, convenient, warm and welcoming town to be enjoyed by all. His business ventures include, but are not limited to, land management, property development, and investment in local establishments. Nicky has transformed several commercial buildings into suitable environments to house wonderful businesses such as a thriving coffee shop, cutting-edge fitness center, and a unique restaurant on Hamilton Street, all while striving to realize downtown Dalton’s full potential. Nicky also owns and manages a number of residential properties and constantly explores ways to increase local housing standards and availability.

With a family history that ties him to Dalton from the late 1800’s, Nicky embodies both the city's past and future. As the representative of Ward 2, Nicky is elated at the opportunity to serve with the current council, play an active role in driving Dalton’s success, and serve the local community in a meaningful way.
