Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)

A Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) provides federal funding to address unique community needs. Authorized under Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, the program provides annual grants on a formula basis to local governments and states.

The City of Dalton is eligible for grant funds under the Entitlement Community Program offered by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. The purpose of this grant is to develop viable communities by providing decent housing, a suitable living environment, and opportunities to expand economic opportunities, for low- and moderate-income persons.

City of Dalton residents are welcome to provide feedback, comments, or questions regarding the City’s participation in the CDBG program. Public input should be directed to  cdbg@daltonga.gov.
