City Launches New Online Payment System For Business Taxes
Wednesday, June 4th, 2022
The City of Dalton has launched a new online payment system for occupational/business taxes, hotel/motel taxes, and mixed drink taxes. The new system streamlines the online payment process making it much more user friendly. It also adds the ability to pay with a checking account online in addition to a credit card option.

The new online payment system is run by a service called Government Window. The payment portal can be accessed through the "Online Payments" button on the daltonga.gov home page and also from a link on the Finance Department's page on the site. You can also reach the payment portal by clicking here.
When the time comes for businesses to renew their occupational tax (which is listed as Business License Renewal on the Government Window payment portal) or to pay their hotel-motel taxes or mixed drink taxes, they simply select the appropriate option from the portal screen and then log in either using their account number or searching by their business name on their license with the city. From there, account holder simply fill out the needed information and the site will complete the tax form for their records and they will be able to pay with a credit card or checking account using the e-check option.
Credit card payments are subject to a 3% processing fee while e-check payments are subject to a $5 processing fee. Those who still prefer to pay in person at City Hall can still do that as well.
