City Offices Closing Friday Due To Tropical Storm Warning

Thursday, September 26th, 2024

Due to anticipated inclement weather associated with Hurricane/Tropical Storm Helene, City of Dalton offices and non-emergency services will be closed on Friday, September 27th. The Mill Line Trail will also close at 4:00 pm on Thursday, Sept. 26th and will not reopen until it is inspected after the storm clears. City public safety and emergency services will still be in operation.

During the storm, residents are advised to stay inside as much as possible and if you do not have to drive, avoid driving. Never drive around barricades and do not attempt to cross any areas where water is on the road - it is impossible to tell how deep the water is, especially in the dark. Turn around, don't drown!

The Public Works Department plans to collect garbage and recycling in the predawn hours Friday morning before the height of the storm is expected in our area. Residents with any loose recycling items that could blow away from bins are asked to please keep those for next week. If the crews have to change their plans, any streets that do not receive their garbage/recycling collection service on Friday will be serviced Monday, September 30th.
