Valley Drive Road Closures Starting April 21st For Construction
Thursday, April 17th, 2025
A section of Valley Drive between Franklin Street and Walnut Avenue will be closed periodically starting the week of April 21st to make way for the construction of stormwater management improvements. The work is expected to take approximately two weeks if the weather permits.
The construction will be taking place near the intersection of Valley Drive and Franklin Street. At times, this area of Valley Drive will be limited to one-way travel. During other times, the road may be closed fully. The closures will be mostly limited to working hours. However, motorists should plan to avoid this area if possible to avoid delays.

The work is part of the construction of the Franklin Street & Valley Drive Stormwater Bypass, which is the final phase of the Walnut North Drainage Improvement Project. That package of projects, which also included work in the West Hill Cemetery and along Ridge Street and the streambank along Valley Drive, is one of the 30 projects recommended by the Arcadis engineering firm as part of the Dalton's 21st Century Stormwater Management Plan.
