Register Now For The "Beast B4 The Feast"
There's no better way to get your body ready for a Thanksgiving feast than a morning run. The Dalton Parks and Recreation Department is getting you ready in style with the annual running of the "Beast B4 The Feast" trail race at the Raisin Woods Bike Park. The 4.6 mile run is capped at 150 runners with another 100 runners taking on the one mile fun run. Registration is open now at mydprd.com/trailseries.
Check-in for the race will begin at 6:30 AM. The race will be timed by chip and the start line will be open between 7:30 AM and 8:30 AM with runners able to start any time in that span. The staggered start allows for greater social distancing on the trail with concerns over COVID-19 in mind and also for safety among the runners. The race is a single track and passing on the trail is difficult.
The run is $10 with a canned food item donation for the Dalton area food banks. T-shirts will be given at the check-in and race organizers ask that participants wear a mask for the check-in.
The Raisin Woods course is a bike trail with hills, roots, and rocks and is mostly single track. Strollers, bikes, dogs, and headphones are not allowed during the race due to terrain and the number of runners.
