Deputy Court Clerk - Municipal Court
The City of Dalton is currently accepting applications for the position of Deputy Court Clerk for the Dalton Municipal Court. Assignments follow strict mandates and guidelines, which have been established by Georgia Statute, Rules of Procedure, and well-defined office practices. Tasks are specifically designed to support the judiciary, members of the bar, federal, state, and county agencies, and the general public and interacting divisions. Employees in this position are required to timely be at work each day as scheduled. The performance of these clerical assignments requires the employee to work independently and at times to exercise sound judgment within the scope of established laws, rules, regulations and procedures.
High school graduate or equivalency required. General clerical experience is preferred but not required. Demonstrate the ability to use a computer with a minimum of 35 words per minute (accurately) and or the equivalent of 7,000 keystrokes per hour. Must be able to attain GCIC Certification, Attend and complete Security and Integrity Class, complete (16) hours of Municipal Court Clerk Training within the first (6) months of employment. Must have a valid Georgia Motor Vehicle Operator’s License.
This is a full-time position with a minimum starting salary of approximately $16.50 per hour. Normal work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
