Recreation Commission

The City of Dalton's Recreation Commission oversees the work of the Dalton Parks and Recreation Department (DRPD). Founded more than 60 years ago, the DPRD strives to serve the recreation needs of our youngest and our oldest residents through a growing number of parks, recreational facilities, and sports leagues. 

The Dalton Mayor and Council appoints the members of the Recreation Commission which is comprised of five members.  Each year, the Commission submits a budget to the Mayor and Council and the Council levies not less than one nor more than two mills for the operation of the DPRD.  The Recreation Commission meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 12:15 pm at various locations. 

The Recreation Commission includes Chair Allison Whittle, Mitchell Boggs, Oliver Cobb, Jacob Mitchell, and Hector Santiago.
