Road Paving Work Underway

Milling and resurfacing work on six Dalton roads started on October 23rd and is expected to be completed by spring 2024. The project will include approximately 4.3 centerline miles of milling and resurfacing as well as adding thermoplastic pavement markings and the installation of raised pavement markers.

The work will begin Monday, October 23rd on South Hamilton Street from Brickyard Road. Eventually, the work will also include Fairfield Drive, Sheffield Place, Kingsridge Drive, Westchester Drive, and Eleventh Avenue. The work will primarily take place during the day and motorists should expect temporary lane closures in the work zones while work is being performed.

Motorists are reminded to please reduce their speed and exercise caution while traveling through work zones. The Public Works Department also asks residents near the construction zones to turn off yard sprinklers and avoid pacing yard brush debris or rubbish in the street while work is taking place. 

The work is being completed by Bartow Paving Company, Inc. of Cartersville, Georgia which is the primary contractor on the project.
