Facilities Maintenance Technician - Public Works

The City of Dalton Public Works Department is currently accepting applications for a full-time Facilities Maintenance Technician; the starting pay rate will be determined based on experience. Under the direct supervision of the Division Foreman the Technician will be in charge of performing tasks associated with routine maintenance and new construction activities of the City’s assets. The Technician will perform a multitude of ongoing facility maintenance and repairs such as light framing, construction and installation of cabinetry, minor electrical installs or repairs, plumbing repairs and unclogging drains, painting, trim work, changing light bulbs, mailbox repairs, and other duties as assigned.  This person must have an intimate knowledge of all aspects of construction, electrical, plumbing, generalized maintenance, and have the ability to operate tools and machinery. Must have a valid drivers’ license and maintain the ability to drive a City owned vehicle. Requires a minimum of Five (5) years of related experience or equivalent experience and knowledge in a similar field.
