Civil Engineering Internship - Public Works Department

The City of Dalton is currently accepting applications for a Civil Engineering internship.  This is a seasonal part-time position within the Public Works Department’s Administrative Division with a starting pay rate of $10 to $16 per hour, depending on qualifications of the applicant.  Primary job duties of this position include assisting the Project Engineer & Public Works Director with design/drafting of plans for transportation & civil site development projects, preparation of quantity takeoffs & material cost estimates, MS4 stormwater inspections, assisting with preparation of bid packages/contract documents, performing computing work including advanced spreadsheets, assisting with traffic engineering calculations/studies, and other duties as assigned.  Applicants must have experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and ESRI ArcMap. Applicants must have a valid Class “C” Driver’s License issued by the State of Georgia.
