Sign & Striping Technician - Public Works

The City of Dalton is currently accepting applications for the position of: Sign and Striping Technician.  This is a full-time position in the Public Works Department Traffic Division with a starting rate of $13.54 to $17.37 per hour (depending on qualifications and prior experience of the applicant).  This position involves the design/fabrication/installation/maintenance of traffic signs, maintaining a traffic sign inventory database, operating thermoplastic/paint application equipment, geometric layout of roadway pavement markings, operation of chain saw/pole saw/concrete saw/hydraulic driver, assist in construction/maintenance of signalized intersections, installing temporary traffic control measures for active work zones, work zone flagging, being on call as directed for after hour emergencies/projects, operation of a bucket truck, performing preventative maintenance work on assigned vehicle, and other duties as assigned.  Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and must possess or have the ability to obtain a Class “B” or “A” Commercial Driver’s License issued by the State of Georgia within six (6) months of employment.
