Part-Time Docent & Visitor Information Specialist - CVB
The City of Dalton is accepting applications for part-time position of Information Specialist and docent for the Convention and Visitors Bureau at the Western & Atlantic Railroad Tunnel and Museum in Tunnel Hill. This role involves leading visitors on guided tours of the historic sites located on the property as well as providing accurate information about our local and regional attractions as requested by our visitors. Successful candidates will have effective communication skills (verbal and written), an ability to follow directions, knowledge of basic office machines, a valid driver’s license, and possess a cheerful and enthusiastic personality. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook is required. Responsibilities include greeting and assisting visitors, driving visitors in 6 or 8 passenger golf cart, providing accurate historic information to guests, climbing stairs, answering phones, retail sales, accounting of funds, excel spreadsheets, light lifting and janitorial work. The need for the candidate to travel within Whitfield County and the region periodically is a possibility. Must be available to work weekdays and Saturdays.
