Landscape Technician - Public Works

The City of Dalton is currently accepting applications for a Landscape Technician position.  This is a full-time position in the Public Works Department’s Landscaping Division with a starting pay rate of $14.62 to $17.50 per hour, depending on qualifications of applicant.  Primary job duties of this position include performing tasks associated with maintenance activities of the City’s green spaces, street right-of-ways, parks and other publicly owned properties.  This position also involves assisting the Department’s Landscaping crew with mowing, weed trimming, tree trimming & tree removal, planting & maintaining trees/shrubs/flowers, maintaining equipment, responding to emergency situations after normal working hours, flagging for traffic control, and other duties as assigned.  Once employed, Landscape Technicians must obtain training/certifications on proper tree care techniques and pruning best practices. Applicants must have a valid Class “C” Driver’s License issued by the State of Georgia.
