The City of Dalton is currently accepting applications for the position of I.T. Support Specialist.  This is a full-time position, M-F subject to be on call for certain tasks.  Knowledge of network protocols, application software, a variety of hardware components, with good troubleshooting skills is required. Must be customer service oriented.  Associates degree in computer science or A+, Network+ along with experience with scripting in PowerShell and Visual Basic is preferred.  

Typical duties include:

  • Interact with the help desk and other teams to assist in troubleshooting, identify root cause, and provide technical support when needed.
  • Perform deployment tasks including desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals. 
  • Assist in maintaining infrastructure including computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, support internet, LANs, WANs, and network segments
  • Assist in maintaining routine tasks including backups, updates and patches, user accounts, reports and audits.
