Full-Time Roll-Off Collections Driver - Landfill

The City of Dalton (Dalton-Whitfield Solid Waste Authority) has an immediate opening for the position of Roll-Off Collection Driver.  This is a full-time position at the Old Dixie Hwy. landfill located at 4189 Old Dixie Hwy.

This position is responsible for the efficient hauling of containerized solid waste and recyclables from, the Authority’s convenience centers and numerous other locations collecting recyclable materials.  Driver must work safely, efficiently and communicate effectively with other staff and customers to ensure that containers are emptied in a manner that maintains the capacity of the convenience centers to provide uninterrupted services to the community and other customers.

Candidate must possess a valid Georgia Class A or B CDL, have a minimum of 2 years of experience driving roll-off trucks or other heavy vehicles, and a clean driving record for the last 48 months period.  Candidate must pass pre-employment DOT drug test and background check.

Typical work week is 40-48 hours, Monday thru Friday and every other Saturday from 7am until 3 pm.  A high school diploma or equivalent is required and the applicant must be at least 21 years of age.  Starting salary range: $16.15 - $20.70 per hour depending on experience and includes great benefits and job security.
