Full-Time Laborer - Public Works (Street Maintenance Division)
The City of Dalton Public Works Department is currently accepting applications for a Laborer position. This is a full-time position in the Street Maintenance Division with a starting pay rate to be determined based on experience. Primary job duties of this position include performing tasks associated with maintenance of the City’s street infrastructure, placing hot & cold mix asphalt, setting concrete forms, placing/finishing concrete, assisting in placement of storm drain pipe & installation of drainage structures, maintaining equipment, responding to emergency situations after normal working hours, flagging for traffic control, and other duties as assigned. Applicants must have a valid Driver’s License issued by the State of Georgia to apply. However, a Class “B” Commercial Driver’s license is desired for most positions and must be obtained within six months of employment. The City of Dalton Public Works Department will provide the required Class “B” Commercial Driver’s license training and reimburse the cost of the driver’s test once passed.
