Crewleader - Public Works
The City of Dalton Public Works Department is currently accepting applications for a Crewleader. This is a full-time position in the Landscaping/Right of Way Maintenance Division with a starting pay rate to be determined based on experience. This position involves the following job duties: assisting the Foreman with supervision of staff and daily operations, including coordinating and assigning daily work to crew members; assisting with the execution of a variety of landscaping functions such as mowing, planting, pruning, fertilizing, litter pickup, Cemetery operations, Community Service coordination, etc.; overseeing hazardous tree removal inclusive of operating a bucket truck and power saw; assist with enforcement of the departments work procedures, policies, and performance standards; in the Foreman’s absence the Crewleader approves sick and vacation leave for crewmembers, responds to questions, complaints, and work requests from the public, and coordinates work with other divisions; fills in as needed to operate equipment or complete work assignments; helps maintain records, files, and processing of paperwork; performs material estimates as needed, and completes work order tickets in the SeeClickFix System. This position is on-call 24/7 as needed for after hour emergencies/work activities, or other duties as assigned. Applicant must be able to operate a bucket truck and have a minimum of three (3) years of related experience as a lead person, or equivalent experience and knowledge in landscaping or similar field. A class “B” Commercial Driver’s License is required.
