The City of Dalton (pop. 34,000) located in the beautiful Northwest Georgia Mountains, is seeking an experienced professional to serve as City Administrator.  The position reports to a four-member City Council and Mayor.  Dalton is a full service City providing Fire Protection Services, Police Services, Multiple Parks and Recreation Services, Public Works, Municipal Airport, Convention Center, Solid Waste Authority, Administrative Services and a full service Utility.

Successful applicants should have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) from an accredited college/university with at least 5 years of experience in an administrative position with a city or county (additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of an advanced degree).  Ideal candidate will have direct experience working with elected officials, a firm knowledge and understanding of public financial operations, familiarity with local funding methods and shared services agreements as well as effective communication and proven management skills.

Minimum starting salary is approximately $100,000.00 ($3846.00 per two week pay-period) depending on qualifications.
