Assistant Director - Parks & Recreation

The City of Dalton, Georgia Parks and Recreation Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Assistant Director. The purpose of this job is to assist the Director of Recreation in the management and administration of the Parks & Recreation Department with an emphasis of oversite of recreational programs. Required to perform advanced professional and administrative work requiring management, supervisory, and analytical skills as well as knowledge of Parks and Recreation programs. Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Parks and Recreation Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a closely related field; have extensive management and administrative experience in Parks and Recreation, local government or related field including considerable supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of acceptable education and experience providing the knowledge and skills cited in this job description. A Master’s Degree is preferred.
