DFD Now Hiring Firefighters

If you want to be a part of the best fire service in the state, the time is now. The Dalton Fire Department is now hiring firefighters for the department's upcoming recruit school. The deadline for applications is November 1st and more information for candidates including a link to  apply online is available by clicking here. Starting base pay is approximately $50,186.76 annually, not including eligible overtime. 

All candidates for firefighting jobs with the DFD must live within 40 miles of Station #1 which is located at 404 School Street near downtown. Those who do not meet this requirement as calculated by Google Maps must relocated within 12 months of their hire date. All candidates must be at least 21 years old and have at least a high school diploma (or equivalent) with college preferred. Applicants must pass the Candidate Physical Agility Test as required by the Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training Council (as amended by Dalton Fire Department). Applicants must complete all requirements set forth by Georgia Firefighter Standards and Training Council for a Georgia certified firefighter by the conclusion of recruit school.
