Municipal Court Proceedings Are Now Held At The Dalton Convention Center

Proceedings of Dalton's Municipal Court are moving to Mondays and will be held at the Dalton Convention Center beginning Monday, July 18th. Court proceedings will be held in the second-floor lecture hall at the Convention Center which is accessible through the main entrance to the building. 

Those with business before the court on Monday have been informed of the change in venue. Anyone with questions about their court date or the new location should contact the Municipal Court offices at 706-278-1913, extension 101.

Court proceedings have been held at Dalton's City Hall in the City Council Chambers for the past several years. The move to the Convention Center's lecture hall space to allow more space and more parking for day-to-day operations of the other departments housed in City Hall. 

The Dalton Convention Center’s lecture hall space can accommodate approximately 200 people at one time. The space is located inside of the Convention Center’s main entrance and to the left once visitors are inside. Officials from the court as well as the police department and the city’s IT department have been working for the past several months to work out the logistics of moving court proceedings to the Convention Center. 

The Dalton Convention Center is located at 2211 Tony Ingle Parkway, west of the Walnut Avenue I-75 interchange.
