Police, Fire Departments To Host Competing Blood Drives
Monday, June 27th, 2022
The Dalton Police Department and Dalton Fire Department are partners in public safety, working together to keep our community safe. But just because they work together every day doesn't mean that they don't enjoy a battle for bragging rights, especially if it's for a good cause.
On Friday, July 8th, the DPD and DFD are squaring off to see which agency can get more blood donations for Blood Assurance.
The blood drive will be taking place at both the Dalton Police Services Center at 301 Jones Street and Dalton Fire Station #1 at 404 School Street from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm on July 8th. Appointments can be made in advance on the Blood Assurance web site. To schedule an appointment to support the police click here, or to support the fire department click here.
Blood Assurance donors who give blood between July 1st and July 8th will receive a t-shirt and two tickets to a Chattanooga Lookouts game. Donors can also enter a drawing for two tickets to an Atlanta Braves game with a stay in Atlanta by entering at bloodassurance.org/homerun after donating.
Each donation of blood can save up to 8 lives. Police officers and firefighters see patients every day who are hurt or sick and need donated blood to survive, so this is a cause near and dear to the hearts of all first responders.
