Trade Center Authority

The Dalton Convention Center overlooks the City of Dalton from its perch on Dug Gap Battle Road. The Convention Center was built as a joint venture of the City of Dalton and Whitfield County. The Convention Center is a hub for tourism in the region, equipped to host conferences and events of various sizes. The Center also houses the Mashburn Arena, home of the 2015 NAIA National Champion Dalton State College Roadrunners basketball program.

The Trade Center Authority was created jointly by the City and County in March 1988 for the purpose of constructing, equipping, maintaining and operating the facility, which was formerly known as the Northwest Georgia Trade and Convention Center.

The Trade Center Authority consists seven members. The Authority meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 8:30 AM.

The Trade Center Authority includes William Hall, Betty Lovain, Robby Staten, Cathy Snyder, Mike Kinsey and Jamie Upton. The City Council liaison is Nicky Lama.
